Introduction Blog.

Hello and welcome to my first blog!  I am very new to this so please be patient with me. Let's get on with the introduction.  My name is Sinead, I am 'cough, cough' years old and I work a regular job. I am a Mother of 5 kids. I am an ordinary person. That being said something extraordinary happened in my life. I lost 3 1/2 stone, (49 pounds) in 4 months.

The weight-loss was not intentional. It was a side effect of dealing with an illness. In order to become less ill, I had to change my diet and my lifestyle. If I didn't, my illness would not only remain but also get worse. I had to change, and the weight-loss just happened!

Let me be clear from the get go. I am not a Dr or a Nutritionist or anything like that. I am also not advocating that you follow the diet I am on. But what I will tell you is that there are some universal facts that do not change and one of those facts is that in order to lose weight, you have to be in a calorie deficit. The great thing about that is you can choose how to be in that deficit. Why are there so many diet plans out there? Because we are all different. What works for you might not work for someone else. My diet sucked before I became ill, and my illness is a direct result of the choices I was making, not just the food I was eating but also how I was living. This isn't just about weight-loss, its also about how we look after ourselves as a whole. How we talk to ourselves, how we treat ourselves. The things we put up with and do to ourselves. The choices we made yesterday, got us to where we are today. Part of being ill, was challenging my own mind. What was I thinking and saying to myself all this time for me to end up here? My body forced me to confront all that and I am grateful. Without this illness, I think I would have carried on the way I was. I really don't want anyone else to suffer the pain I had in order to learn the lesson. You have to look after yourself, and that includes how you speak to yourself about yourself. Change is hard, but if you want the new  you have to let go of the old to make room for it.

I would love for you to come with me on this journey of change. I will be sharing tips. info, changes I made in my life, books to read, and referencing experts who know far more than I to help along the way. Are you coming?
